There are no hidden or encrypted links in my themes

There are no hidden / encrypted links anywhere on my themes. I have never released such a theme.

Recently one of my theme users [his name is Yannis], contacted me through my contact page.He said,

Hi, I came across a plugin called TAC (Theme Authenticity Checker) that’s supposed to reveal encrypted codes in wp themes.
They also say that we should stop using themes with encrypted codes.
Surprisingly, TAC found encrypted codes in SeaShore and in MistyLook (I was using previously).
Any comments please.

I was quite puzzled about that and then tried the plugin on my own website.
It showed an error message like this.

This error shows up on a line in my theme’s contact page template [contact.php].
This template helps in creating a contact page so that the visitors can send personal messages to the site owners.
When these messages are submitted, the contact.php file encrypts the message and then sends it as an email to the site owner.
This is not an issue at all. So if you come across this message from that plugin, it is OK to ignore the warning.
I thought I should let you all know about this.

Yesterday I went to the WordCamp Houston 2010 and got an opportunity to see some of the WordPress Enthusiasts from this part of the world.
As a WordPress Theme developer, I keep an eye on whats going on around WordPress, but somehow till last week, I did not know about this event at all. When I went online to get the tickets, they were already sold out.
I still went there and talked with a couple of different people and finally bought a ticket on the spot so I could get in.
My thoughts on this, presented in a random order.

Houston is the hometown for Matt. He says “You are my people” to the crowd, on his keynote. See his complete keynote.
Houston has so many WordPress enthusiasts, I could see more than 200 people with all kinds of different backgrounds.
The event is very well organized.
People loving WordPress also loves iPhones and iPads. This camp is the second place where I see so many iDevices, the first one is the Apple Store
Had an opportunity to listen to the sessions of Bill Erickson and Aaron Brazell and learnt a few tricks and tips.
The word “Thesis” brings a lot of laughter in the crowd just similar to someone mentioned “Apple” in Google’s Camp. While Aaron hates the Thesis theme, Thesis is used by a lot of people for building WordPress sites quickly and professionally.
I met Stephanie Leary who wrote a book on WordPress 3 and she seems so knowledgeable.
I met Cullen Wilson who is running a company called WPEngine, providing hosted WordPress solutions.
Finally I met Matt, the founder of WordPress and we had a short conversation. See the pictures he took on that day.
Matt recognized me by face, he said he has seen my picture on this website.
Matt said MistyLook is one of his favorite themes and he has personally worked on getting it for use in wordpress.com. It is one of the most popular themes among the users of wordpress.com.
I am happy and proud to be associated with WordPress in some way through my contributions.

NigaRila – is now a free WordPress Theme

Custom Menu feature for MistyLook

I spent some time last week and updated the MistyLook theme for use with WordPress 3.0.
One of the cool features that they added in WordPress 3.0 version, is the ability for the users to define their own navigation menu for their sites. It will also make it easy for people to have drop-down menus where child items are listed when hovering over the parent item in the menu.
Of course, the themes have to adapt to support this feature.
I did some research and development into bringing this feature to my already popular MistyLook WordPress Theme. Go ahead, download and Enjoy!
